HOME / INSURANCE CLAIMS

Direct billing · Xactimate fluent

We work for you — and we speak fluent insurance.

Your adjuster's job is to close the claim. Ours is to make sure your home is actually restored — and that the claim covers it. Photos, moisture logs, drying records, Xactimate scope: we document so thoroughly that pushing back gets expensive for them.

The process

Four steps between you and a paid claim.

"In New York, YOU choose your restoration contractor. Not your carrier. It's your legal right — and it matters, because 'preferred vendors' answer to a volume agreement."— The one thing every homeowner should know before the adjuster arrives

STEP 01 You call us first

Before the adjuster, before anyone. Early documentation is the difference between a paid claim and a denied one — and your policy requires immediate mitigation anyway.

STEP 02 We document everything

Timestamped photos, moisture readings, drying logs, itemized Xactimate estimates — the exact format your carrier requires.

STEP 03 We meet the adjuster

We walk the loss together and defend the scope line by line, so nothing gets quietly cut from your claim.

04 We bill the carrier

Payment flows from your insurance company. Covered losses typically cost you only your deductible — and we file the completion paperwork that releases held-back depreciation.

What we hand your carrier

The documentation package.

Direct insurance billing

We work with every insurance carrier.

Not a "preferred vendor" for any of them — which means we answer to you, not to a volume agreement. If they write policies in New York, we work with them and bill them directly.

Straight answers

Insurance questions, answered honestly.

Do I have to use my insurance company's preferred vendor?

No. In New York you have the right to choose your own restoration contractor. Preferred vendors work under volume pricing agreements with the carrier — we work for you, and carriers must still pay covered claims performed by the contractor you choose.

What does 'we bill your insurance directly' actually mean?

We write the estimate in Xactimate (the platform adjusters use), submit our documentation package to your carrier, reconcile scope with the adjuster, and collect payment from the insurance company. For covered losses, your deductible is typically your only out-of-pocket.

What if the adjuster's estimate is lower than the real cost?

Common — first estimates miss scope constantly. We walk the loss with the adjuster and reconcile line by line against our photos, moisture logs, and readings. Documentation wins these conversations; that's why ours is obsessive.

What is recoverable depreciation?

Many policies first pay actual cash value and hold back depreciation until repairs are completed and documented. We file the completion package that releases it — homeowners routinely leave thousands unclaimed because nobody files this paperwork.

Should I call you or my insurance company first?

Call us first. Your policy requires you to prevent further damage immediately — that's us — and the first-hour documentation we capture is what protects the claim you're about to file. We'll help you report the loss right after.

Every policy differs — this page is orientation, not a coverage decision; your policy language and adjuster determine final coverage.
